When Kevin first reached out to me about capturing his surprise engagement to Halia, I knew we were about to embark on a truly magical journey. The stunning backdrop of Garden of the Gods, with its majestic red rock formations and sweeping vistas, was the perfect setting for this special moment.
The Plan
Kevin and I meticulously planned the session to ensure everything would be perfect. We coordinated a spot about halfway into the session where he would pop the question. This spot, nestled among the towering rocks and surrounded by the beauty of nature, was an ideal choice to create a moment Halia would never forget.
The Session Begins
The day of the shoot, the weather was perfect—clear skies and a gentle breeze. We started the session as a typical couple’s photoshoot, capturing the love and joy that radiated from Kevin and Halia. They were naturals in front of the camera, their affection for each other shining through every frame.
The Surprise
As we approached the pre-determined spot, the anticipation was palpable. I gave Kevin the signal, and he got into position. Halia, completely unaware, continued to pose for the camera, her smile as radiant as ever.
Then, the moment arrived. Kevin dropped to one knee, presenting the ring. Halia’s expression shifted from one of casual happiness to sheer surprise and joy. She gasped, her hands flying to her mouth, and tears welled up in her eyes. “Yes!” she exclaimed, her voice filled with emotion.
