There’s something truly magical about photographing families at Garden of the Gods — where nature, emotion, and connection intertwine perfectly. Recently, I had the honor of capturing a warm and joy-filled session with Kristen, Miguel, and their adorable son, Forest, amidst the iconic red rock formations of Colorado Springs.
A Journey into Nature’s Canvas
As a Colorado Springs family photographer, I’ve spent countless golden evenings at Garden of the Gods, and it never ceases to inspire me. The park’s dramatic sandstone spires and soft desert light create a setting that feels both timeless and intimate — the perfect stage for this family’s story.
Kristen & Miguel: A Love Story in Every Frame
The love between Kristen and Miguel was effortless to capture. Against the glowing rocks and open skies, their connection felt completely natural — full of laughter, warmth, and tenderness. Each frame reflected not only their love for each other but also the deep bond they share as a family.
Forest: A Bundle of Joy Amidst the Rocks
And then there was little Forest — bright-eyed, curious, and full of energy. Whether he was exploring the trails or laughing in his parents’ arms, his joy brought every image to life. Capturing children’s spontaneous wonder in places like Garden of the Gods is one of my favorite parts of family photography.
Storytelling Through Family Photography
Family sessions are more than portraits — they’re about preserving real emotion. Through my lens, I focus on storytelling: the hugs, the laughter, the in-between moments that define family life. With Garden of the Gods as our backdrop, this session became a perfect balance of natural beauty and heartfelt connection.
