"Bobak is an amazing photographer! He brought such a fantastic energy to our multi-generation family session at Garden of the Gods. Our time with Bobak was chill and so much fun. He kept us smiling and captured some beautiful candid moments (even with a fussy teething baby!). Our photos turned out beautifully. I give him my highest recommendation and would definitely work with him again."

1.5-Hour Extended Family Session Timeline

Big family gathering? Let’s make it timeless. Here’s how a relaxed, meaningful 90-minute extended family session typically flows — with laughter, hugs, and gorgeous Colorado scenery.

5:00 PM – Meet at the Location

We’ll meet at a scenic, pre-scouted location (like Garden of the Gods or a spot of your choosing). I’ll give everyone a quick rundown, help with any last-minute adjustments, and we’ll ease into the session with some gentle direction and light posing.

5:15 PM – Full Group Portraits

We’ll start with the whole family while everyone’s fresh and smiling. Think classic portraits, then a few fun, candid ones too — everyone laughing, walking together, maybe even a “goofy one” for the holiday card!

5:30 PM – Individual Family Units

Each immediate family gets their own mini session. We’ll mix in posed and candid shots of parents with kids, siblings together, and individual portraits as needed. This is where personalities shine!

6:00 PM – Generational & Special Pairings

Time for grandparent portraits, cousins together, grandkids with grandparents, and any special requests — like mother-daughter duos, siblings, or anniversary couple shots. These are the moments that will matter for decades.

6:30 PM – Final Candids & Wrap-Up

We’ll use the last few minutes to grab any last-minute shots you’d love — whether it’s a scenic walking photo, kids playing in the grass, or a quiet moment with a sunset backdrop. Then we’ll high-five and send you off with some great memories (and a full heart).

Voila! You’re done – with unforgettable memories and stunning photos to remember the day!

I’m proud to celebrate families and couples of every background, identity, and walk of life. No matter your age, race, religion, gender, ability, or orientation, your story deserves to be told with care, respect, and joy.

"So worth it! My family and I were in Colorado Springs for vacation, and Bobak helped us to capture incredibly special memories together. Bobak is so friendly and personable. We were a group of 10, including young kids, and everyone had a great time taking pictures. Bobak was fun and engaging, and he made managing all of us look easy :) The pictures turned out great. I'm so glad that we have them to remember our trip and can't wait to share them with my family!"

Family Photo Session Tips

Every family is unique — and I believe your session should reflect that. Whether you’re bringing toddlers, teens, grandparents, or the whole crew, here are some tips to make the most of your session:

1. What should we wear for family photos?

  • Stick with earthy tones, neutrals, or muted colors that blend beautifully with Colorado’s natural backdrops.

  • Avoid neon, logos, or busy patterns that distract from your connection.

  • Coordinating outfits (not identical) create a timeless look.

  • Pro tip: Lay all outfits out together before the session to check how they flow as a group.

2. What’s the best time of day for family sessions?

  • Golden hour (right after sunrise or before sunset) offers soft, flattering light.

  • Mid-morning works well for little ones with early bedtimes.

  • Pro tip: Plan naps and meals so kids feel their best at session time.

3. How do you keep kids engaged and happy?

  • Keep it playful — I’ll guide with fun prompts and games.

  • Bring small, mess-free snacks, water, and a favorite toy for comfort.

  • Pro tip: Don’t stress if kids act silly — the candid moments are often the most meaningful.

4. Can we include grandparents, pets, or extended family?

  • Yes! Multi-generational sessions and fur babies are always welcome.

  • Pro tip: If pets are joining, bring a helper so we can grab a mix of photos with and without them.

5. How long should we plan for?

  • Mini sessions: 30 minutes — quick portraits or vacation memories.

  • Standard sessions: 1 hour — variety, natural portraits, and candid moments.

  • Extended sessions: 90 minutes+ — perfect for larger families or multiple locations.

  • Pro tip: Extra time = less stress and more space for authentic connection.

6. Where are the best locations in Colorado for family photos?

  • Popular spots include Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon, mountain lakes, and open fields.

  • Pro tip: Choose a location that feels natural for your family — whether that’s adventurous trails or easy access with strollers.

7. What happens if the weather turns bad?

  • Light clouds or a little drizzle add mood and magic.

  • Severe weather? We’ll reschedule or adjust timing/location.

  • Pro tip: Flexibility always leads to the best experience.

8. How should we prepare before the session?

  • Make sure kids are rested and fed.

  • Bring layers (Colorado weather changes fast).

  • Pro tip: Think of this as family time, not a photo shoot — when you relax and connect, the photos shine.

9. How soon will we get our photos?

  • Galleries are typically delivered in 7–10 business days.

  • You’ll get a private online gallery to view, download, print, and share.

  • Pro tip: Plan ahead if you’d like photos ready for holidays, announcements, or gifts.

"We had a wonderful experience with Bobak! He was communicative, accommodating and gave thorough instructions. Fantastic with our family for the entirety of our session. An absolute gem!"
