In the midst of uncertainty and unexpected challenges, sometimes the greatest opportunities for growth and happiness emerge. That’s exactly what happened to me in 2016 when I was laid off from a startup company in San Francisco.
Losing that job was tough — it shook my confidence and left me unsure of what came next. But deep down, I knew I had to find a path that aligned with who I really was. That’s when I picked up my camera and took a leap of faith, starting my own small photography business. It began as survival but quickly became something much greater — purpose.
Building a Life Through Photography
The early years were a blur of trial and error, long nights, and self-doubt. I took on every kind of photography gig imaginable — anything to learn, grow, and stay afloat. Over time, though, I realized what truly lit me up: capturing the connection, laughter, and emotion of real people.
Family photography, engagement sessions, and elopements became the heart of my work. Each session reminded me that photography isn’t just about pictures — it’s about preserving moments that matter.
If you’ve ever faced uncertainty, I hope my story reminds you that new beginnings often hide in life’s biggest challenges. You can read more about my story and values on my About Page, where I share how connection and trust shape everything I create.
Becoming a Colorado Springs Family Photographer
Fast forward seven years, and I’m proud to call myself a Colorado Springs family photographer, working with hundreds of incredible families, couples, and adventurers from all over the world.
If you had told me back in 2016 that I’d be photographing families against the breathtaking red rocks of Garden of the Gods, I probably would’ve laughed. But here I am — living proof that life’s detours can lead to something far more fulfilling than the plan you started with.
I’m endlessly grateful to everyone who’s trusted me to capture their stories here in Colorado. You can browse recent client experiences and behind-the-scenes stories on my Blog or explore my Family Photography Packages to start planning your own session.
Why I Love What I Do
Every time I meet a new family or couple, I’m reminded why I chose this path. The laughter of kids, the tears during an elopement, the quiet joy between people who love each other — that’s what keeps me going.
Colorado Springs is more than home to me; it’s a place of rebirth and creativity. Its beauty and sense of community shaped me into the photographer I am today. If you’ve never been, Visit Colorado Springs to discover why it’s one of the most inspiring places for photographers and adventurers alike.
