Skylar and Taylor’s photography session at Garden of The Gods

Skylar and Taylor’s engagement session at Garden of the Gods was relaxed, joyful, and completely authentic. From the moment we started, everything felt easy. No pressure, no forced poses, just two people showing up as themselves in one of the most iconic landscapes in Colorado Springs.

Garden of the Gods gives couples space to move, breathe, and connect, which made it the perfect setting for Skylar and Taylor’s LGBTQ+ engagement session.

LGBTQ+ Engagement Session at Garden of the Gods

Garden of the Gods is one of the most welcoming and accessible engagement locations in Colorado Springs. The wide trails, open viewpoints, and dramatic red rock formations allow couples to feel comfortable while still getting stunning scenery.

Skylar and Taylor leaned into that freedom. We walked, talked, laughed, and let moments happen naturally instead of chasing stiff poses. That’s always my goal. Engagement photos should feel like time spent together, not a photoshoot checklist.

If you’re still exploring locations, you can find inspiration in my Best Places to Elope in Colorado guide, many of which work beautifully for engagement sessions too.

A Natural, Candid Engagement Experience

This session focused on connection over perfection. Movement over posing. Presence over performance. Skylar and Taylor’s chemistry made every moment feel genuine, and the red rocks added just the right amount of drama without overpowering their story.

For LGBTQ+ couples, feeling safe, seen, and respected matters. My role is to create an environment where you can relax and be yourselves while I take care of the rest.

You can explore session options on my Engagement & Proposal Packages page.

Planning a Garden of the Gods Engagement Session

A few simple things help sessions flow smoothly:

  • Sunrise or sunset offers softer light and fewer crowds

  • Comfortable outfits help movement feel natural

  • Colors that complement the red rocks photograph beautifully

  • Staying present always leads to better photos

For more planning tips, my Colorado Elopement Guide covers timing, light, and location advice that also applies to engagement sessions.

Final Thoughts

Skylar and Taylor’s LGBTQ+ engagement session at Garden of the Gods is a perfect example of what happens when couples feel free to be themselves. Real laughter. Real connection. A setting that lets love speak without explanation.

If you’re planning an LGBTQ+ engagement session in Colorado Springs and want photos that feel natural, inclusive, and true to you, I’d love to help.
