Zachary and Jodie’s photography session capturing love across the miles

Love knows no bounds — and for Zachary and Jodie, that truth has carried them through ten incredible years apart. Their long-distance relationship, with Zach living in the United States and Jodie in the United Kingdom, is a powerful story of patience, faith, and unshakable devotion.

To celebrate the end of a decade spent oceans apart, they decided to mark their journey with a Garden of the Gods couples session — a heartfelt photo shoot that captured not only their love, but the joy of finally closing the distance.

As a Colorado Springs photographer, I, Bobak Radbin, had the privilege of documenting their connection against one of the most breathtaking backdrops in Colorado.

The Trials and Triumphs of Long-Distance Love

Being separated by continents is never easy. Zachary and Jodie faced time zones, missed holidays, and countless video calls — yet their connection never wavered. Through trust, laughter, and the promise of “someday,” they built something rare: a love strong enough to defy distance.

When they reached out to me, they wanted their Garden of the Gods couples session to feel symbolic — a celebration of endurance and hope. Every photo we took that evening reflected that strength: the laughter, the warmth, and the relief of knowing the wait was finally over.

Golden Hour Magic: A Decade of Love Captured in Frames

There’s something special about the light at Garden of the Gods, especially at golden hour. The way the sun dips behind the red rock formations makes every image glow with warmth and depth — the perfect setting for Zachary and Jodie’s story.

As we photographed them walking through the park, their body language told the story better than words ever could. The soft smiles, the quiet glances, the way they leaned into each other — it was the look of two people who had waited ten years for this very moment.

You can explore more stories like theirs on my Blog, where I feature real couples and their unique journeys across Colorado and beyond.

A New Chapter: Together at Last

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Zachary and Jodie shared quiet moments that felt like the closing of one chapter — and the beginning of another. After ten years apart, they’re finally starting their new life together in the UK.

Their Garden of the Gods couples session captured that feeling of transition perfectly: joy, relief, gratitude, and excitement for the future. Each image is a visual diary entry of everything they’ve overcome and everything that lies ahead.

For couples starting their next chapter together, I always encourage documenting this moment — it’s a powerful way to honor the journey and look forward to what’s next.
