Ireland Colorado Elopement Photographer

In 2018, Ireland was the first stop on my Europe trip, and it instantly set the tone for an unforgettable adventure. From the moment I landed in Dublin, the country’s charm was undeniable — a mix of ancient history, warm hospitality, and landscapes that felt almost unreal.

Although I traveled with my then-partner, this story is less about people and more about place. Ireland’s character was so strong that it felt alive in every moment. Looking back at my photographs, I realize how much this journey shaped my love for Ireland travel photography — capturing not just scenes, but emotions and stories.

Starting in Dublin – A City of History and Hospitality

Our journey began in Dublin, where stone cathedrals and historic buildings towered above cobblestone streets. The glow of pub windows spilled into the night, and the faint smell of rain and hops lingered in the air.

Yes, the rumors are true — a pint of Guinness here really does taste better. Smoother, creamier, and somehow more authentic.

Between visits to centuries-old landmarks, grand cathedrals, and cozy cafés when the rain came, Dublin revealed itself as both lively and deeply rooted in tradition. It’s a city every Ireland travel photographer dreams of — filled with character and charm.

Castles, Sheep & the Irish Countryside

Leaving the city behind, the roads wound through rolling green hills dotted with sheep, stone fences, and cottages that looked straight out of a postcard. The countryside wasn’t just beautiful; it felt timeless.

We explored ancient castles whose walls had weathered centuries of wind and rain, each carrying a quiet dignity. The crisp air, lush fields, and endless shades of green made the countryside unforgettable — a dream setting for travel photography.

The Cliffs of Moher – Ireland’s Wild Beauty

The highlight of my trip was the Cliffs of Moher. Standing on the edge, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean, I felt both exhilarated and humbled. The sea crashed far below, gulls wheeled above, and the salty air whipped around me.

Photographs can capture the scene, but being there was something else entirely — a rare mix of awe and calm that defines Ireland’s wild spirit.

Staying in the Irish Countryside

Much of the trip was spent in the countryside, where we stayed in wooden cabins surrounded by apple trees and woke to the sound of chickens.

Mornings were slow — tea or coffee in hand while the mist hung over the fields. Evenings meant hearty meals of lamb stew, warm bread, and local beer.

These everyday moments reminded me that Ireland travel photography isn’t just about capturing dramatic landscapes — it’s about noticing the quieter, ordinary beauty that makes life meaningful.

Why Ireland Stayed With Me

Years later, Ireland still lingers in my memory. It wasn’t just a stop on my Europe itinerary — it was a place where history and nature felt inseparable, where every bend in the road revealed something worth photographing.

For a photographer, it was a dream: dramatic coastlines, rich colors, and a rhythm of life that invited you to slow down and look closer. My images from that trip remain some of my favorite travel photographs — not just because of what I saw, but because of how Ireland made me feel.

While most of my work is based in Colorado — from elopements at Garden of the Gods to alpine weddings in the Rockies — I’d love to bring that same storytelling approach abroad one day. If you’re dreaming of a destination elopement in Ireland or beyond, reach out here.
