Landing in Malaga, I was immediately greeted by the charm of a coastal city that blends Mediterranean breezes with centuries of history. From narrow streets lined with scooters to cathedrals and bustling plazas, Malaga had both energy and warmth.
One of my favorite memories was simply wandering its lively streets, camera in hand, capturing the mix of old-world architecture and modern city life. For me, this is what travel photography is all about — slowing down, observing, and letting the details tell their own story.

Granada: The Majesty of the Alhambra
If there’s one word to describe Granada, it’s breathtaking. Nestled against the Sierra Nevada mountains, Granada holds one of the world’s architectural treasures — The Alhambra.
Exploring the Alhambra was like stepping back in time. The intricate arches, endless geometric patterns, and views overlooking the city were unlike anything I’d seen before. It’s a place that feels both timeless and alive.
Beyond the Alhambra, Granada itself had a rhythm I’ll never forget: cozy tapas bars, winding cobblestone alleys, and sunsets that painted the sky in every shade of orange.
⸻
Córdoba: Timeless Beauty
Córdoba felt quieter and more contemplative than the other cities I visited. Walking through its historic center, I was immediately struck by the Mezquita-Catedral, with its red-and-white arches and breathtaking blend of Moorish and Spanish architecture.
Every corner seemed to carry layers of history. Córdoba was the perfect way to round out a trip filled with celebration, discovery, and inspiration.

A Photographer’s Reflection
This trip to Spain reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. For me, it’s never just about images — it’s about preserving experiences, emotions, and the small details that make travel so meaningful.
Although this wasn’t a professional elopement or wedding assignment, I couldn’t help but dream of returning to Andalusia one day as a photographer. The lively streets of Malaga, the courtyards of Granada, and the timeless architecture of Córdoba would make the most beautiful backdrops for couples celebrating their love.
And just putting it out there — if you’re planning a destination wedding or elopement in Spain, I’d be honored to be part of your story. Even though my home base is in Colorado Springs, where I’ve photographed hundreds of elopements and intimate weddings, my love for travel and storytelling means I’d happily bring my camera wherever your adventure takes you.

Final Thoughts
Traveling through Andalusia gave me memories I’ll always cherish: the vibrant colors, the history, the food, and the feeling that every corner was alive with culture. From Salma and Moritz’s wedding celebration to exploring palaces and cathedrals, Spain left me deeply inspired and grateful.
I can’t wait to return — and maybe next time, I’ll be capturing a love story against the magical backdrops of Malaga, Granada, or Córdoba.
