Colorado Food Photographer

Hello, food enthusiasts and photography lovers! I’m Bobak Radbin, a Colorado food photographer based in Colorado Springs. Today, I’m taking you behind the scenes of one of my earliest culinary projects — a food photography session for the acclaimed Crustacean Restaurant in Beverly Hills.

While this shoot took place in California, it marked a milestone in my journey and shaped how I approach storytelling through food imagery today here in Colorado.

The Beginnings of a Culinary Journey

When I launched my photography career in 2016, my mission was to merge visual artistry with my passion for culinary experiences. Working with Crustacean Beverly Hills was one of my first opportunities to do just that — blending elegance, lighting, and storytelling to showcase the craftsmanship behind every dish.

You can learn more about my creative approach to brand and lifestyle photography on my Branding & Lifestyle page, where I continue to celebrate businesses, creators, and chefs through meaningful imagery.

Colorado Food Photographer: Crafting Stories Through Cuisine

Every food photography session is about more than capturing plates — it’s about revealing the artistry behind each ingredient. At Crustacean, I worked closely with their talented kitchen and marketing teams to translate their vision into visuals that embodied their brand.

The goal wasn’t just to show what was being served — it was to communicate the emotion, the heritage, and the sensory experience that defined their cuisine.

If you’re curious about what inspires my approach, check out my About Page and explore how storytelling sits at the heart of every session I photograph — from fine dining to family portraits.

Behind the Scenes at Crustacean Beverly Hills

The kitchen at Crustacean buzzed with creative energy. Chefs meticulously plated each dish, balancing color, texture, and detail. From the crisp vibrance of a seafood roll to the velvety richness of a chocolate dessert, I captured every angle with a focus on light and form.

You can see more of my photography work and creative storytelling on the Blog, where I highlight a wide range of visual projects, from family sessions in Colorado Springs to destination branding shoots across the U.S.

Lessons in Collaboration and Growth

This project became a defining moment in my early career. Working alongside the Crustacean team taught me how to communicate visually in fast-paced environments — lessons that now guide my commercial and culinary projects in Colorado.

Colorado Food Photographer

As a Colorado Food Photographer, I’m continually inspired by the way light, texture, and color bring stories to life — whether it’s a fine-dining kitchen or a cozy café. Food photography, to me, is about more than aesthetics; it’s about creating emotion you can almost taste.

Colorado food photographer for restaurants and brands

While this project was one of my earlier experiences, it continues to shape how I approach restaurant photography today.

As a Colorado food photographer, I now work with restaurants and culinary teams to create clean, natural imagery that reflects both the quality of the food and the identity of the brand behind it. From refined dining experiences to local restaurants and new concepts, the goal is always to create visuals that feel intentional, consistent, and aligned with how the business wants to be perceived.

Whether it’s a full brand refresh or a focused menu update, strong imagery plays a key role in how customers discover and connect with a restaurant.
