Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing the vibrant flavors and inviting atmosphere of Amanda’s Cantina & Fonda, a beloved Manitou Springs staple known for its colorful plates, authentic Mexican dishes, and lively spirit.

Located near the scenic base of Pikes Peak, Amanda’s Cantina & Fonda captures the heart of Mexican hospitality. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the warmth of terracotta tones, rustic décor, and the unmistakable aroma of fresh, handmade tortillas.

Their team’s commitment to locally sourced ingredients and traditional recipes made every dish a joy to photograph. Each plate seemed to tell a story — one of passion, heritage, and creativity.

To me, this kind of restaurant embodies the local spirit I love documenting. It’s not just about food; it’s about connection, culture, and craft.

Before the shoot, I met with Linda, the Director of Marketing, to understand their goals for the session. We discussed Amanda’s brand identity, lighting style, and how to bring their story to life visually.
