A Romantic Garden of the Gods Fall Elopement in Colorado Springs

This garden of the gods fall elopement is one of the earliest elopements I ever photographed in Colorado Springs, and it continues to be one of the most memorable. The day was calm and warm, the leaves had shifted into deep gold and soft copper tones, and the iconic red rock formations stood tall around us. Everything about fall at Garden of the Gods feels comforting, peaceful, and grounded, and this elopement fit perfectly into that atmosphere.

The couple kept their day simple and meaningful. No rush, no stress, just connection. They brought a guitar, a soft bouquet of fall florals, and the kind of energy that made the entire session feel relaxed and authentic. It is moments like these that remind me why I love elopements so much.

Music, Warm Light, and Fall Colors

One of my favorite things about this elopement was how personal it felt. As we explored the trails, the groom played music on his guitar, creating the calmest soundtrack to the day. We stopped at several beautiful spots around the park, including areas near High Point and a few quieter corners tucked between junipers and golden grasses.

The fall colors were glowing. Colorado has a short window of deep, warm tones before winter arrives, and Garden of the Gods becomes especially photogenic during this time. The mix of red rock, soft yellow leaves, and an orange Les Paul guitar made every frame stand out.

If you want to see more sessions with similar scenery, take a look at my High Point Overlook elopement and Alise and Dorsen’s Garden of the Gods elopement. Each season brings something different to the park, but fall might just be one of the most magical.

Why Garden of the Gods Is Perfect for Fall Elopements

Choosing a garden of the gods fall elopement means choosing simplicity, beauty, and accessibility. The park is free, easy to reach, and full of locations that work well for intimate ceremonies. As a Colorado elopement photographer, I always recommend fall for couples who want:

  • warm, soft lighting

  • colorful foliage

  • cooler temperatures

  • peaceful morning sessions

  • dramatic mountain views
