Some of the best photo sessions are the ones where love and laughter collide — and adding a playful pup into the mix only makes things better. On a warm spring morning at Garden of the Gods, I had the pleasure of photographing Ally, Jared, and their dog Fenway, whose joyful energy made this couple’s session truly unforgettable.

As a couple and pet photographer in Colorado Springs, I love sessions that blend adventure, emotion, and real connection — because the best photos always come from moments that feel natural and alive.

Why Couple and Pet Photography in Colorado Springs Is So Special

There’s no place quite like Garden of the Gods when it comes to capturing connection. The park’s red rock formations, open trails, and panoramic views of Pikes Peak create the perfect backdrop for couples and their pets.

As the sun rose higher, Ally and Jared shared laughter and quiet affection while Fenway trotted happily beside them, curious and full of energy. Their bond — playful, grounded, and full of warmth — came through in every frame.

Tips from a Couple and Pet Photographer in Colorado Springs

If you’re planning a session with your dog, here are a few quick tips from experience:

  • Bring treats or a favorite toy to help with focus.

  • Choose a neutral-colored leash that blends with your outfit.

  • Pack water, especially for warm days.

  • Let your dog be themselves — the candid moments are always the best ones.

Fenway – The True MVP

Fenway was the star of the show! His wagging tail and boundless curiosity brought so much life to this session. From playful runs through the red rock trails to snuggles between shots, he made every moment feel spontaneous and real.

Pets bring such honesty and joy to photography — they remind us that the best images aren’t about posing perfectly but about connection and presence.
