Some love stories are made even sweeter when shared with a furry best friend. Kerri and John’s dog friendly elopement at Garden of the Gods was one of those sessions that felt effortlessly joyful — simple, relaxed, and full of laughter.
We met at the Siamese Twins Trail parking area, one of my favorite tucked-away corners of the park. It offers easy access, stunning red rock formations, and open views of Pikes Peak, all within a short walk. With the soft light of golden hour and their sweet dog Icicle by their side, the scene couldn’t have been more perfect.
A Relaxed Colorado Elopement Experience
From the moment we started, Kerri and John’s energy was calm and full of warmth. They weren’t focused on posing or perfection — just on being together. Kerri’s floral gown fluttered in the breeze while John looked timeless in his gray suit, the two of them smiling and laughing with every frame.
And then, of course, there was Icicle. Dressed in the cutest little outfit, she happily trotted alongside them, stealing the spotlight more than once. Pets bring such personality to elopements, and seeing their bond made the entire session even more heartfelt.
If you’re considering bringing your own dog to your ceremony, I’ve included a few tips in my Colorado Elopement Guide about how to make your elopement both pet friendly and stress free.
The Beauty of Siamese Twins Trail
While Garden of the Gods has many popular overlooks, this spot near the Siamese Twins Trail is perfect for couples who want privacy and mountain views without hiking too far. Just steps from the parking area, the trail opens to a panorama of Pikes Peak, golden grasses, and glowing red sandstone cliffs.
As the sun began to dip, the light softened into that signature Colorado glow, wrapping Kerri and John in warmth. Every time I photograph here, I’m reminded why Garden of the Gods is one of the most romantic places to elope in Colorado Springs.

A Couple That Radiated Joy
Kerri and John were pure joy to photograph. Their laughter echoed through the canyon, and their connection was genuine in every shot. It’s moments like these — the in-between smiles, the quiet handholds, the shared glances — that remind me why I love capturing elopements.
Kerri later shared:
“Bobak is so fun and made our elopement photos absolutely perfect. We had them at the Garden of the Gods and the scenery was so beautiful. He made everything so comfortable and got our pictures done so fast. These are some of the most memorable pictures we have and I just can’t get over how wonderful he did! His price was absolutely reasonable and he provides a large amount of photos! 10/10 will use him again!”
Hearing that makes it all worth it.
