Ashley and Jay’s enchanting engagement session at Garden of the Gods

Some sessions just radiate joy — and Ashley and Jay’s Garden of the Gods engagement was pure sunshine from start to finish. As their photographer, I, Bobak Radbin, had the absolute pleasure of capturing their laughter, connection, and undeniable chemistry against one of Colorado’s most awe-inspiring landscapes.

Before we dive into their story, I’ve got to give a big shoutout to my friend Jacqueline, who introduced me to this amazing couple. Thank you for connecting us — this session turned into something truly unforgettable.

Why Garden of the Gods Is a Dream Location for Engagement Photos

If you’ve never experienced Garden of the Gods, it’s hard to put into words just how stunning it is. With its fiery red rock formations, sweeping views of Pikes Peak, and ever-changing light, it’s one of Colorado’s most photogenic spots — especially for engagement sessions.

The beauty of this park lies in its versatility. Whether you want adventurous hiking shots, elegant golden-hour portraits, or candid, romantic moments in the open meadows, Garden of the Gods offers endless creative possibilities.

You can find more inspiration for sessions like this in my Engagement & Proposal Packages — each one is designed to capture authentic emotion in Colorado’s most breathtaking landscapes.

Capturing the Love Story of Ashley & Jay

The moment I met Ashley and Jay, I could tell this session would be something special. Their laughter was contagious, and their connection was effortless — the kind of love that fills the air and makes the entire session feel like an adventure.

We wandered the trails together, stopping to take in the views and chase the light. The sandstone cliffs around us glowed as the sun climbed higher, turning every frame into something cinematic. You could feel how much these two adored each other — the smiles, the playful moments, the way they naturally held hands as we explored.

As the evening light softened, their Garden of the Gods engagement turned absolutely magical. The golden-hour sun painted the rocks in warm hues of orange and pink, and the sky lit up with the kind of colors you only get in Colorado.

Golden Hour Magic

Photographers call it “the golden hour” for a reason — it’s when everything feels softer, warmer, and more romantic. For Ashley and Jay, it was as if the world slowed down just for them. They laughed, danced, and soaked in every second as the sun dipped behind the horizon.

Golden hour is hands-down my favorite time to photograph at Garden of the Gods. The light reflects off the rocks, creating a natural glow that makes every couple look radiant. If you’re planning your own engagement session here, sunset (or sunrise) is absolutely worth the early start or late finish.

A Session Filled With Laughter and Love

What made this shoot unforgettable wasn’t just the scenery — it was the energy. Ashley and Jay were a reminder of why I love photographing engagements in Colorado: two people completely wrapped up in each other, surrounded by beauty, being unapologetically themselves.

Final Thoughts

Ashley and Jay’s Garden of the Gods engagement session was pure magic — full of laughter, light, and love. Sessions like this remind me that the best photos come from genuine moments shared between two people who truly belong together.

If you’re dreaming of your own Colorado engagement or proposal session, I’d love to help you plan the perfect day.
